Absolutely insane video shot in NYC subway tunnels, and more amazingly, the top of the Williamsburg Bridge.

It is easy to shoot your foot off with git, but also easy to revert to a previous foot and merge it with your current leg.

phk about IBM Deathstar

>I've had that klonking sound more than a few times.

That is the drives way of barfing: It is basically what happens when the electronics gets unexpectedly reset. If you are lucky the drive is intelligent enough to cut the write current first.

The infamous "Deathstar" drives from IBM, did not, and had a firmware bug you could trigger that caused a watchdog reset. The FreeBSD guys at Yahoo managed to reverse-engineer the pattern of destroyed sectors, and proved that they lay in a outwards spiral, caused by the heads uncontrolled outward motion during reset. That incident cause IBM to sell their entire diskdrive business to Hitachi, they were afraid of the liability to their name.
